Jon Litty

MAJ Jon Litty enlisted in the US Army and attended Infantry One Station Unit Training at Ft. Benning, GA in
August of 1988. Upon completing Infantry OSUT, MAJ Litty served with Echo Company (Honor Guard), 3d
US Infantry until August of 1992 when MAJ Litty exited the service to earn an undergraduate degree in
Biochemistry at the University of Oregon and an MBA in Global Management at the University of Phoenix.

Reentering the Army in 2000, MAJ Litty attended Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning GA and Chemical
Officers Basic Course at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO with a follow on assignment to 1-508 Airborne Battalion
Combat Team, 173d Airborne Brigade (Separate) in Vicenza, Italy. While with 1-508 ABCT, MAJ Litty
participated in Operation Atlas Drop ‘02, Operation Hungarian Response ‘02, 30-day Grafenwoehr Training
Area live fire rotation, 45-day CTC Rotation at Hohenfels Training Area, graduation from an American/Italian
Jumpmaster MTT, and the initial entrance and follow-on Major Combat Operations of CJTF-7 in Iraq.

Leaving the service in August of 2004, MAJ Litty entered the industrial and commercial contracting field and
gained his Industrial Engineering and Large Commercial Contracting licenses in the State of Arizona, the
Project Management Institute – Project Management Professional Certification, and the US Green Building
Counsel – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Professional Accreditation (LEED AP). MAJ Litty
entered USACAPOC (A) in September of 2010, attended CAQC, and deployed to Afghanistan in March of
2011. MAJ Litty served as a U.S. Civil Affairs Team Leader in the Arghandab River Valley of Northern
Kandahar Province for the first two months of this deployment and, following a re-assignment, MAJ Litty
served as U.S. Civil Affairs Officer and C.F. Civil Military Co-Operation (CIMIC) team leader for Combined
Team Uruzgan–an Australian, New Zealand, and Singaporean Coalition Force (CF)–responsible for stability
operations in Uruzgan Province and security transition and development operations in Daykundi Province.

In 2012, upon returning from Afghanistan, MAJ Litty received an Intellectual Property Fellowship at Thomas
Jefferson School of Law and graduated in August 2015 fulfilling the Intellectual Property Fellowship
requirements thus receiving both Juris Doctor in Law and Center for Law and Intellectual Property Fellowship
Certificate. MAJ Litty also studied Chinese Jurisprudence under Professors Zhao Jun, Hongdao Shuyuan,
Wang Weinong, and Song Yongxin as an exchange student at Zhejiang University’s Guanghua Law School.

MAJ Litty’s military education includes: Infantry OSUT, Federal OCS, Chemical OBC, Jumpmaster, Civil
Affairs Qualification Course, Quartermaster Captains Career Course, Army Basic Instructor Course, and the
Command and General Staff Officer Course (CGSOC) Common Core Course and Advanced Operations
Course. MAJ Litty is a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Registered Patent Attorney practicing
intellectual property and trade secrets, business tort law, and competition law in the State of New Mexico.
